Driver Biography

I began racing sprint karts in Michigan in 1993, notching my first win that October, and finishing the year with 18 top-five finishes out of 24 starts. During 1994, I accumulated two wins and four seconds, while placing in the top five 17 out of 18 races, and finished the year fifth in the point standings.

In 1994, I earned my SCCA Competition License and competed successfully in two races. I logged five starts during 1995, notching two top-ten finishes, including a seventh place at IRP, and a ninth place at Road America. In the remaining three races I scored top-fifteen finishes, all with 30 to 40 car fields.

During 1996, I qualified as follows: one 2nd, two 3rd’s, three 4th’s, and one 8th, but my race results were even more gratifying. I won an hour long Mini-Enduro in the rain at Elkhart Lake, along with one 2nd, one 3rd, and three 4th’s. I finished every race but one in the top four. The lone exception was due to a rare mechanical failure.

In 1997, I had four top-ten finishes, including a third place at IRP, and a sixth place at Blackhawk Farms, while qualifying in the top-five twice.

Highlights for 1998 include a win on IRP’s oval, setting fast lap, and a top five on the road course.

I have logged two starts in the June Sprints, in 1998 and 2001, with fields averaging 78 cars.

In 2002, I participated in the Brian Redman International Challenge at Road America, in Tommy Houston's NASCAR Busch Series car, scoring third place in class, and 22nd overall.
